Our friends at Havana Club have launched a Gap Year Competition and are offering one person the chance to win a 365-day trip, starting in July 2013. The winner will travel to 12 countries and experience 12 life-changing adventures, including training with bartenders in the Cuban capital of Havana, visiting Barcelona during the Festas de la Merce, mixing with Tokyo’s best DJs and helping families living in Rio’s favelas to prepare for the Carnival.
You can enter the competition (or vote for your favourite contestant) until 1st March 2013 through the new Havana Club Gap Year Facebook app. The participant with the highest votes from each country will compete at the global final in Havana, where a panel of judges composed of Cuban artists such as films directors Juan Carlos Tabio and Pavel Giroud, the legendary Cuban bar tender at El Floridita: Alejandro Bolivar, Winner of the Best Job in the World and travel expert: Ben Southall and other Havana Club brand representatives will select the overall winner.
The winner will have some work to do… they will be involved with the ongoing engagement with Havana Club’s fans throughout the campaign as the winner will be tasked with updating the Facebook page with photos, interviews and videos from each place visited. But that’s not exactly the toughest job in the world eh?
Jérôme Cottin-Bizonne, Havana Club’s Managing Director, says: “In Cuba, people take the time to appreciate the simple joys in everyday life, so as a truly international brand, we wanted to help our fans to appreciate the world around them. Havana Club is at the edge of cultural marketing and this competition is a great way for us to give our fans the opportunity to experience the Havana-style culture in some of the world’s most exciting cities.”
