The UK Launch Event
For TheFloatingRumShack.com Tuesday night was the night that London Cocktail Week finally got going. Rumours of massive feats of drinking on Monday night were politely ignored... If it didn't happen to us: it didn't happen at all! The arrival of our rummy friends from around the world had set our hearts all-a-flutter and the anticipation had built up quite nicely during the day. The event would allow us a few hours in the company of the team (which included family member: Isabel Molina Botran) from Ron Botran, Guatemala.

Rhum des Seychelles
Rum from the Indian Ocean isn’t new – we’ve tried a few, but I’m pretty sure that Takamaka Bay is the first rhum we’ve tried from the Seychelles and to be absolutely honest – had we not been fortuitously introduced to David Owens (a very nice chap who is working with the Trois Frères Distillery) then we may have never got around to trying it. Well not until next month at RumFest – but more of that later.
Bottled Exclusively for Gerry’s London Old 74…
It’s the little quirks of fate I love so much; A chance conversation on the phone with Allen at Gerry’s Wines and Spirits last April or May primed me with the knowledge that they were commissioning a single cask bottling of rum. It was planned to be available in their fine establishment sometime in September.
