Have We Just Walked Into A Rum Rave? 

We are fortunate enough to attend launch parties for new products – it’s a very cool benefit to writing about rum.  Some we are invited to and some we find out about and make sure we end up on the guest list – its normally the latter that we are particularly keen about; because it means that we are looking to meet up with someone or something new.

Mount Gay Rum Is The Toast Of Henley Royal Regatta 

It would appear that we now have two reasons to be annoyed that we couldn’t get down to the Henley Royal Regatta.  Not only were Mahiki there, as we reported previously - but it seems Mount Gay were there as well!

Rum Sixty Six will be available for tasting down at Gerry's (Soho, London) on Saturday 24th July, between 1.30 and 5.00pm.  If you've not tried it yet and are in the area - this really is the perfect moment to swing by and say 'hi'.

Strange how sometimes it feels like a whole string of articles seems to be about just one brand.  Just recently there was the Elements 8 Rum: Reinvent a classic cocktail competition and hot on its heels is the launch of the new Elements 8 Barrel Infused Spiced Rum.  TheFloatingRumShack.com was invited along to the launch party and of course we’ve never been known to say ‘no’...  [*]

Elements 8 ‘Re-Invent The Daiquiri’
