Henley Get's Tiki'ed...
For those of you who don’t live in the Home Counties you might not even be aware that the Henley Royal Regatta will be taking place this year (2010) from the 30th June – 4th July.
In a nutshell it is an event held over a few days where everyone turns up in their finest gear at Henley-On-Thames (it’s free if you don't go into the enclosures - otherwise you'll need to pay for a ticket) and drink loads whilst watching the rowing events taking place on the Thames, that feature competitors from all around the world. I can honestly say we have never been before - but that could well change this year.
I guess you want to know why we are writing about it on TheFloatingRumShack.com? Well, this year it will be featuring Mahiki, so this means rum and cocktails which is good news for all going along. This should ensure that the flow of rum rivals the rivers of Pimm’s and Lemonade which will be consumed over the 5 days.
Last year Mahiki were testing the waters and still welcomed 40,000 visitors through their doors. For 2010 they have decided to return “bigger and better!” So there will be the usual mixture of sun (hopefully), rum, cocktails and glamorous stars.
Mahiki will be showing live coverage of the World Cup and Wimbledon Championship as well as featuring a Beach Barbeque featuring their special Tiki sauce.
