I bet you just love a happy ending? 

Of course you do – everyone does.  It’s one of the nice things about life.  Like the fairy stories, people fall in love and live happily ever after!  Well... insomuch as a rum can find its ideal match, we are pleased to say that the stylishly branded Dictador rum is now to be found here in the UK in the hands (or should I say arms?) of a particularly caring lady...

It was just after RumFest 2009 that TheFloatingRumShack.com reported that Dictador were looking for a UK partner.  Our initial (slightly) negative reaction to the brand name quickly faded and left us loving the sexy image and approach that Dictador appeared to be taking.  If you don’t believe me on the image thing – get yourself down to the brand (spanking) new Dictador website www.rumdictador.com/ and check out the ‘Backstage’ section...  Hmmm – oh yeah - that’s hot baby!

Vanquish Wines (who appear to have more than just one new rum brand under their belt) are now distributing the Dictador 12 and 20 year old solera expressions, right here in good ol’ Blighty.  The ever enthusiastic Jenny Gardener is pretty pleased to have them on board too!  And in Jenny’s safe hands we reckon they will be well looked after.

Should you wish 'it' to be a solo sport, you can lay your hands on your very own bottle with nothing more complicated than the rather base and vulgar monitory exchange that we call ‘purr-chasing’ down at Gerry’s Wines and Spirits [74 Old Compton Street, Soho, London].  Apparently the ‘12’ will be £36.80, with the ‘20’ weighing in at a little more hefty £51.50...

You may well want to prove to yourself that the expense is justified, in which case you can toddle off to The Mandarin Oriental or Trader Vic’s where we are assured that Dictador will soon be residing... just waiting for you to get close to them!

TheFloatingRumShack.com is particularly keen to say ‘hi’ once again – it’s been too long and high time we were reacquainted with each other...  If we can lay our hands on a bottle or two, we might well get an opportunity to review them – you never know eh?
