Why have we done this?

The Floating Rum Shack is the vessel for reporting our mission to discover more about Rum and to give us an opportunity to share our findings with the UK and the rest of the world.

It's a fansite, pure and simple.

We very much hope that friends, family and the industry itself will share their knowledge, passion and news with us and thereby spread the good word!

Are we "Experts" or "Rum Connoisseurs"?

No! We won’t profess (or pretend) to be rum experts or connoisseurs.  All I can say is we like rum!

What else...

We are very keen to help to bring Rum to the attention of the people of the UK if at all possible.

We know enough to know that Cachaça is not Rum to those whom manufacture it.  We hope we don't offend, if on occassion this fine spirit is mentioned on this site.  We feel that they are both to be lauded!

It sounds like its going to be fun.
