#FoursquareTT
When: 28th April 2020
From 7.30 pm BST
Foursquare Distillery, Barbados... Yeap! We are very, very happy to announce our next Twitter and Social Media Tasting will be on the 28th of April. Starting at 7.30 pm, we’ll be joined by Richard Seale, 4th generation Rum producer at the family-owned R.L.Seale Company, and the current master distiller (and blender, and all-round creative genius). Foursquare Distillery is one of the modern eras most critically recognised and highly-awarded Rum companies in the world right now, with new the releases eagerly anticipated and sought out - and it's a selection of new releases that we'll be featuring at this event.
Our Twitter Tastings follow a simple format. We feature a selection of Rums and pose questions to the producer about the processes that brought them to bottle, what makes them special, and in between that we'll delve into the key aspects that identify the brand and producers hallmarks. Anyone is free to join the conversation, and ask questions, but in order to taste along with us then you will need a special sample set*, the availability of which is restricted to the UK only (sorry to all those folks outside the UK).
*Unless of course, you’ve got some or all of the Rums, in which case we’d be pleased to have you join us anyway.
We'll be tasting five tots:
- Doorly's 3-Year-Old, an expression that has been on general release for several years, but is now newly available at an increased bottle strength of 47%. Make sure to have some of the existing 3 Year Old at 40% for a side by side demonstration of what ABV (alcohol by volume) does for flavour delivery).
- Doorly's XO and 12-Year-Old, also recently increased from 40% to 43% ABV. The 12-Year-Old has been available at this higher strength for a little while, but the XO is new to the UK market.
- Foursquare Nobiliary: the 12th release is the Exceptional Cask Selection series. A 14-Year-Old release presented at 62% ABV.
- Crisma, a Cream Liqueur produced at Foursquare Distillery - so it's not a Rum - but don't get sniffy, this delicious release may have been available for many years in Barbados, but it's been recently repackaged and is newly available in the UK market. And did I say its delicious? It certainly is.
If you’d like to stand a chance of receiving a set then you must be UK based, of legal drinking age and an active Twitter user. Please send us an email on thefloatingrumshack [at] Gmail [dot] com.
Please do include your Twitter account name if using any method other than Twitter to message us and when tweeting about the event, don’t forget to use the hashtag #FoursquareTT.
Obviously you need to follow us (@FloatingRumShac) and @foursquare_rum on Twitter. All eligible entries will be added to the list for the draw.
Please don’t delay – check your diary – clear your diary and register your interest. Closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday, 19th April 2020.
Demand for sets tends to outstrip the ability to supply (and BTW we have a decent number of sets), and in the event you’ve not got one, we'd still love to have you join in the conversation - so hope you'd be tuning in on Twitter on the 28th April at 7.30 pm BST by searching out the hashtag #FoursquareTT.
All our normal terms and conditions apply.
